Boy's Basketball Playing Rules
A. The Official Playing Rules will be the National Federation of State High School rules
For the current year as modified by these rules.

14:U/8th Grade 8 Minute Quarters 4 Minute Overtime
15:U/9th Grade 8 Minute Quarters 4 Minute Overtime
16:U/10th Grade 8 Minute Quarters 4 Minute Overtime
Junior Boys’ 8 Minute Quarters 4 Minute Overtime
Senior Boys’ 20 Minute Halves 5 Minute Overtime
Game Time: The game time will also be the forfeit time. No grace period is allowed.
All events shall have a mandatory minimum warm-up and half time of 8 min.
C. Basketball Sizes
The “undersized” basketball shall be used for all 7:U/1st grade, 8:U/2nd grade, 9:U/3rd grade, 10:U/4th grade, 11:U/5th grade and 12:U/6th grade age division competitions. Circumference shall be 28.5
D. Coaching Restrictions
No person may be a coach for any team competing in an event for which he/she is the tournament director.
E. Team Rosters
1. A maximum of fifteen (15) athletes and four (4) non-athletes are allowed on a
Team roster. All athletes and non-athletes on the roster must be registered AAU
Members.
2. A team may have a maximum of 3 players from a bordering district (Cross
Boundary Athlete)
3. A team that qualifies for a National Championship Tournament may add a
Maximum of five (5) players to it’s District Roster for the purpose of participating in the National Tournaments. The total number of players designated to play in the National Tournament may not exceed fifteen (15) players.
4. Players added to a roster must meet the following criteria:
a. An athlete must have been able to satisfy all eligibility requirements regarding (age, residence, etc.) at the time the District Championship was contested.
b. There shall be a maximum of three (3) cross boundary athletes on a
roster at any time. No new cross boundary athletes may be added to a team roster advancing to the National Championship after the District Tournament unless the athlete was an eligible player listed on an official District roster of a team participating in the same District Championship Tournament. Cross boundary athletes must be disclosed on an original district roster.
c. In age groups 8:2nd Grade through 14:Under/8th Grade, each team roster
is limited to a maximum of three (3) players who qualify under the Grade Exception rule. This limitation includes add-on’s/replacements under this rule (Athletes on the District Roster can be replaced)
d. A team advancing to a Division I National Championship may not add a
player from another team advancing to a Div. I National Championship in the same age group.
e. A team advancing to a Div. I National Championship may add a player
from a roster of a team advancing to a Division II National Championship.
f. A team advancing to a Div. II National Championship may not add any
player from a team that has qualified for a Division I National Championship in the same age group.
g. A team advancing to a Division II National Championship may not add
any players from another team that is advancing to a Division II National Championship in the same age group.
